The Board of Education of St. Mary’s County believes that class rankings should be maintained and made available to eleventh and twelfth grade students upon request in each high school. Established grade point average bands will be used to determine those students who have excelled with high grade point averages and recognize these students at high school graduation ceremonies as follows:
● GPA ≥4.25 will be Summa Cum Laude "with highest praise"
● GPA between 4.00-4.24 will be Magna Cum Laude "with great praise"
● GPA between 3.75-3.99 will be Cum Laude "with praise"
Please see policy IKC - Class Rankings and Graduation Recognitions in BoardDocs for further clarification.
